The Speakers

David Eves

Executive Vice President, Group President - Utilities and President of Xcel Energy - Colorado. He also serves as a Director of Public Service Company of Colorado.

Previously he served as president and CEO of Southwestern Public Service Company. He also has served as vice president of Resource Planning and Acquisition for Xcel Energy, where he had responsibility for resource planning, wholesale power supply, transmission rights, and gas transportation and storage services for all of Xcel Energy’s operations in eight states. Eves received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University in 1981.

He currently serves on the board of trustees for Mile High United Way and he is on the board of directors of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, and the Mountain States Employers Council. He is a member of the Colorado Forum and Colorado Concern. Eves has served as a past executive committee and operating committee member at Western Systems Power Pool.

Nancy K. Buese

Ms. Nancy K. Buese, CPA, is Chief Financial Officer & Executive VP at Newmont Mining Corp. and Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President at MarkWest Energy GP LLC.

Buese is on the Board of Directors at UMB Financial Corp. Ms. Buese was previously employed as Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President by MPLX LP, an Independent Director by ZeaChem, Inc., Chief Financial Offi cer & Executive Vice President by MarkWest Energy Partners LP, Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President by MarkWest Hydrocarbon, Inc., Partner by Ernst & Young LLP, Chief Financial Offi cer & Executive Vice President by MPLX GP LLC, Chief Financial Officer by Natural Supplement Association, Inc., and Vice President by TransMontaigne LLC.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas.

Pete Lorenzen

Pete Lorenzen was appointed IBM’s General Manager, Global Technology Services, Networking Services in January 2015. He also serves as IBM Colorado’s Senior State Executive.

In his current role as GM, Pete holds global responsibility for strategy, offering development, sales, and delivery of IBM’s networking service line. As IBM Colorado’s Senior State Executive, Pete is responsible for IBM’s relationship with both State and Federal agencies and IBM employees.

Pete began his IBM career in 1982 in IT delivery, where he supported large mainframe engineering development. During his 35-year career at IBM, Pete has held several senior roles within the strategic outsourcing arm of IBM’s Global Technology Solutions Group, domestic as well as international.

An active community leader, Pete serves as a member of both the Colorado Chapter of the March of Dimes Board of Directors and the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business Advisory Board.
